Who Are We And What Do We Do?

Operation Far From Home is a project established to communicate to our Jewish troops that they are not forgotten. While we cannot bring pots of chicken soup to them we can mail cans of soup along with other kosher foods, Judaic items, requested necessities, and some fun things all packed with love and caring. As they serve in conflicts, they connect us to the realities of a harsh and difficult time in history, and we serve to connect them to the Clal (community).

Thanks for the Whole Megillah

Dear OPFFH Donors,

I am a civilian US Army contractor working at Camp Speicher near Tikrit, Iraq. We have a small congregation of soldiers, airmen and civilians that meet for Shabbat evening services and we were recently blessed to receive several boxes of your donations for Purim. Speaking on behalf of my fellow war fighters, we were excited and touched at your heart-felt generosity. Please forward our sincere thanks and gratitude to the donors who poured their gifts out on us. Their kindness reminded our small family of fighters that we have a connection with our Jewish heritage in the very land where Esther and Mordecai fought to save the families of Israel.

May Adonai bless you and keep you.
