Who Are We And What Do We Do?

Operation Far From Home is a project established to communicate to our Jewish troops that they are not forgotten. While we cannot bring pots of chicken soup to them we can mail cans of soup along with other kosher foods, Judaic items, requested necessities, and some fun things all packed with love and caring. As they serve in conflicts, they connect us to the realities of a harsh and difficult time in history, and we serve to connect them to the Clal (community).

NOVEMBER 11TH A DAY FOR ALL OF US TO SALUTE OUR TROOPS.

When we first began Operation Far From home we did not know anyone serving in the militiary. We now have an extended family in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq,
Baharain, Kuwait, and other areas around the globe. We have become close to many and even after they return we stay in touch. Our unique closeness has developed through emails and even meeting with some upon return. There are times when things get a bit hectic and we do not get to emailing as soon as should. Often there is an email inquring if we are ok because someone has not heard from us in a while. With all that is going on some of our troops find the time to think of us. We are asking you to think of and remember them. Our brave and couregous troops and their families should be remembered everyday not just on Veterans Day.

For Veterans Day we honor the service of our troops, along with their families, as well as the ultimate sacrifice many have made to honor their committment to the safety of our country. They have sacrificed by leaving their loved ones behind in service of our country. Often they have sacrificed their physical wellness and their lives. Veterans of all wars are to be remembered and honored on this day.

As our troops serve today many have experienced things that we can not begin to imagine. They must serve on this day, often with heavy hearts, while remembering their friends and fellow troops who have lost their lives in service. We wish them strength to deal with their memories in honoring those we have all lost and hope that they will all soon return to peaceful service.

Please take the time to send a letter through us to our troops and their families. Let them know that they are remembered and cared for. Set a plate for a military person on Thanksgiving, Chanukah, and other holidays to keep them in your mind. Mention them in your synagogues and when you talk to friends and family. Please contact us so that we can tell you how you may get involved with our project at 888-633-4613.

Below is a picture of Veterans Day being observed in Iraq in 2007. Please remember our troops in prayers and thoughts and please help us to help them know that we are thinking of them. We are One People United Souls. We Support Those Who Defend Us!
