Who Are We And What Do We Do?

Operation Far From Home is a project established to communicate to our Jewish troops that they are not forgotten. While we cannot bring pots of chicken soup to them we can mail cans of soup along with other kosher foods, Judaic items, requested necessities, and some fun things all packed with love and caring. As they serve in conflicts, they connect us to the realities of a harsh and difficult time in history, and we serve to connect them to the Clal (community).

Todah Rabah!

May HaShem bless all the people who help in this endeavor. Your timing and packages are such a great help to those of us here in Afghanistan. This past Erev Shabbat we had REAL Challah thanks to Operation Far From Home.

What a shock when I received 11 boxes full of things. CPT Walker is going to recieve most of the food items as he will not eat anything they cook in our Dining facility. He goes in for the fresh fruit and veggies and everything else he eats he prepares for himself in his work area and I know it has been taking a chunk out of his pocket to have stuffed shipped from the states. This is a great help to him.

Women's History Month is in March and on 5 March we are taking a humanitarian trip to the Ministry of Women and 7 March we will be going to an orphanage where there are about 50 kids.

The weather is getting warmer so the Taliban will be coming out to cause more deaths amoung our service members as well as the Afghan Service members. We just lost 4 soldiers this week to a road side bomb they call IEDs. Two weeks ago we lost 2 soldiers to an IED. Keep us in prayer that we would all be safe and return to our respective homes.

Again Thank you from all the service members you help.
